JAIPUR: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday said the country was passing through difficult times and the economic growth in the current fiscal would be 7 per cent, down from 8.5 per cent a year ago.

"Our country is going through difficult times ... We are up to the task of meeting these challenges we face as a nation", he said while addressing the 10th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas being attended by over 1,900 overseas Indians.

Despite an adverse international environment, Singh said, "the Indian economy is expected to grow by about 7 per cent this financial year ending March 31."

All the govt (both central & state) has been looting the country for last 62 years (UPA, NDA, congress etc)....and of course, few rich industrialists as well.....But cong has ruled almost 50yrs, that's why I was very particular about congress....they hav shown no respect for the 70 yr old Anna hazare; first they spread wrong info abt him, then tried to break the team and then making all posible allegation against the team members......BJP, RJD etc are jst trying to take advantage of the situation....but from heart, they never supported lokpal bill.....how we should respond or react? The way, govt is filing cases against the activist, it seems that they want to teach a lesson to all AAM admi that "dont cross the line"...........these MPs & MLAs jst forgt that they are servants of people, not the kings.........

India will continue like this. The country is stuffed and the politcial system is spineless. The country cant even build roads and all the attempts has been spectacularly a joke as there is no lane discipline, at night people drive on hig-beam, lorries do 10kph in all three lanes overtaking each other, road signs are non-existant and the ones that are has chronic spelling mistakes. Guys I even had to give bribe to a customs officer at an international airport in Novemeber 2011.What more can i say?

Mr. Prime Minister, the joints of your Chair become weak and loose and in such a condition that the same can be collapsed at any movement. This is becuase of a spine less Prime Minister. You are not able to take firm decisions but support the corruption. The expections of the common man are spoiled by you. You are simply like Mayavati or Jayalalitha or Lallu.

Dear PM,we hv been passing thru difficult times ever since we became independent, if we go by the statements of our ruling elite during the last 60 years ( except probably during 2003-04, when the ruling NDA leaders - or was it only the BJP leaders - talked about INDIA SHINING , but their detractors said it was only on the surface and the electorate proved them right! ). So what is new about it and what do you intend to do about it? Do you have an implementable Road-map to turn arround the situation? Else, what is the use of such statements?

Basu (USA)

08 Jan, 2012 09:53 PM

This is happening because of you. You are the weakest prime minister in the history of India. DMK along with congress looted the country and you are numb. You can not take bold decision that helps country's economy while so called your policy makers spend time to save corrupted people and their black money instead of brilliant ideas that may support country's growth. Now you are using soft tricky words to touch people's most sensitive site to get sympathy as well as to divert people's attention from corruption and your inability to develop the country.

All these 6 years you were talking about curtailing inflation , but failed and now you are rewarding the Nation's patience with another bad news. After being a mute spectator and allowing your high command and allies to loot the nation – 1.76 lakh crores in 2G, Tens of thousands of crores in CWG , 2 lakh crores in Godhavari basin scam , daily looting of Indian public on artificially inflated food prices thru the twisted mouth sharad pawar , highest fuel prices and if the hundreds of billions looted money is put in safe haven and Swiss banks abroad – definitely the country will go through difficult times except you and your friends , so called Mr. Clean? Prime minister.

08 Jan, 2012 08:36 PM

Dear Mr PM what data do you use to calculate our GDP could you let the people of India know. For the Last 60 years we couldn't get our census right. Every time you open your mouth you just talk about GDP and inflation. Could you get to the core of governance Provision of Health Care Facilities, Schooling for Kids Employment Relations, Roads and Infrastructure, Security, Power. water. Its congress and the Gandhi family which has been ruling India since Independence & the situation in the country is pathetic. The British had given us a larger India, Honorable Nehru gave out Pakistan and Lost the China War. Now that we have lost the North East........

Rugved M (London, UK)

08 Jan, 2012 08:33 PM

Dear Dr. Singh, India has been passing through troubled times from the past 65 years because of the corruption scandals your party has delivered to the citizens. I don't believe you a single bit and I have completely lost whatever little respect I had for you in my mind. Time and again the only thing which you and your finance minister have done is give false assurances about the dip in inflation from the past two years. There has been no change in the inflation rate at all. On the contrary, it just kept on rising and rising. I seriously doubt what kind of Ph.D. did you do in the field of Economics from the University of Cambridge?

ROGER RUPANY (HONG KONG)
