West Bengal Consumes 392,000Tones Petrol, 2.8% of Petrol or 0.28% P.P.

It shall not be in the interest of WB to follow BJP RSS BIMARU states in politics.

Bihar, Orisha, Chhatisgarh, MP, Jharkhand, UP, WB consumes 271, 318, 233, 620, 217, 1315, 392 thousand tones of petrol = 3366 thousand tones of Petrol which is barely 24% of Petrol consumed in India and 2.4% of all petroleum products. Petroleum price increase is just Rs.2300 crores burden on consumers of all seven BIMARU states.

On page 75 of this document we can see WB consumes just 392,000 T of petrol. This is just 2.8% of petrol consumption and 0.28% of all petroleum products which are 14 million tones and 141 million tones for 2010-11.

Even Rs.7000+ per tone increase would mean just Rs.280 crore burden which is nothing for a state of over 10 crores population.

But her walk and bundh would have caused Rs.2000 crores loss to WB economy directly and perhaps Rs.50,000 crores indirectly – no one will think of investing in a state where CM leads street protests.
