Muzaffarnagar riots: BJP MLA arrested for making hate speech
The local population have been badly affected by the round of violence in Muzaffarnagar. Representative picture (IE)At the end of a remarkable day in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly where heated tempers led to a contest of blows between SP and BJP members, BJP MLA from Lucknow Suresh Rana was arrested for making hate speech in the Muzaffarnagar riots case.

He has been taken to an undisclosed location.
This is the first arrest since the riots broke out in Muzaffarnagar three weeks ago.

Police said arrest warrants were issued against 16 politicians, and SP made a statement that all those whose names are included in the list will shortly be arrested.
